`With its foundations in the 1800s, Il Poggio is one of the most historic estates in Montalcino and has been owned in the Franceschi family for five generations. The estate`s reputation for producing some of the best wines in the region was cemented by former winemaker Pierluigi Talenti (1958-1999). Talenti was succeeded by Fabrizio Bindocci, who was in turn succeeded by his own son, Alessandro.
