Colgin IX Estate Syrah 2016

Colgin is a prestigious winery in Napa Valley, founded by Ann Colgin in 1992. The IX Estate vineyard, from which the grapes for this wine are sourced, is located on the western slopes of Pritchard Hill and features various microclimates and soil types, allowing for diverse and unique expressions of the grapes grown there. The 2016 vintage was characterized by near-perfect growing conditions, with a relatively mild summer followed by an extended harvest period, allowing the grapes to ripen fully. The wine itself offers intense aromas of dark fruits, such as blackberries and blueberries, along with notes of smoked meat, black pepper, and hints of sage and rosemary.
