Echezeaux DRC Magnum 2008

Situated within the commune of Vosne-Romanée, Domaine de la Romanée Conti is undoubtedly the most prestigious wine estate in Burgundy. DRC – as it is frequently called – is co-owned by the de Villaine and Leroy families and produces only grand cru wines. The vines are farmed biodynamically, yields are kept low by methodical pruning, and harvesting is typically very late. This particular release is DRC’s 2008 Échezeaux, produced from a 4.67-hectare vineyard holding. On the nose, expect notes of Asian spices, red cherries, liquorice and a touch of sandalwood. The palate is rather intense and savoury, boasting smooth tannins and a long finish.
