I was born and raised in the Republic of Moldova, a small European country with a rich wine culture. I became passionate about wines when working as a tour guide and sommelier in the Cricova Cellars, one of the biggest wine cellars in the world and situated directly beneath my home town!

Italy is a second home and it's where my development as a wine professional began. I completed a number of Associazione Italiana Sommelier courses and eventually found work as a sommelier in Michelin-starred restaurants in Taormina, Milan and Lake Como.

Since moving to the UK I have worked as a sommelier at the Gordon Ramsay restaurant group and as member of the team at Berry Bros. & Rudd, giving me experience of both off and on-trade. The move to Hedonnism Wines has been fantastic - the huge choice of fine wine and spirits we stock is a source of constant inspiration and meeting / learning from some of the world's greatest distillers is something I will never get tired of.

In terms of my personal preference when it comes to wine, I love bubbles of any kind and Northern Rhone Syrah is my favourite red, with the occasional detour to Barbaresco for a glass of Nebbiolo.
