Aloxe Corton Louis Latour 1971

For centuries, Aloxe-Corton has served as the residence of the Latour family and remains at the core of Domaine Louis Latour. Situated to the north of Côte de Beaune, the village graces a stony hillside nestled at the base of Corton Hill. It was in 1862 that the term "Corton" was appended to the village`s name, becoming Aloxe-Corton. The vineyards owned by Domaine Louis Latour surround this renowned village, producing a signature Aloxe-Corton wine. Upon their initial release, the 1971 wines presented themselves as tightly wound and reserved, lacking in immediate charm. However, as the years passed, the tannins mellowed, and the wines began to reveal their true character.
