Founded in 2001, Anakota is located in an ancient volcanic zone, perfectly suited to Bordeaux varietals. Only two single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons are produced from the winery’s estate vineyards. Helena Dakota and Helena Montana. The 2004 vintage of Helena Dakota Vineyard is filled with dark fruit aromas, plums and strawberries, plus hints of tobacco. The palate is very well-balanced, with fully integrated tannins and notes of leather, earth and cedar.
(14% alcohol): Saturated ruby. Extremely primary aromas of cassis, blackberry, boysenberry, violet, licorice, coffee and crushed rock. At once fine-grained and penetrating, with strong minerality and nicely integrated acidity giving a light touch to the mouth-saturating black fruit flavors. This sweet, savory, beautifully balanced wine features firm but harmonious tannins and a very long, echoing finish. Still a baby!
