Annandale Man O`Sword STR Cask 2017

Originally founded in 1836, Annandale was given a new lease of life, when David Thomson and Teresa Church bought the slumbering distillery in 2007. They not only restored the beautiful buildings but also reinstated whisky production, using a modern plant designed by the late Dr Jim Swan. ‘Man o’Sword’ is their range of peated whiskies, in celebration of King Robert the Bruce, Scotland’s Warrior King and 7th Earl of Annandale. Distilled in 2017, this release was filled into a cask that had previously held red Burgundy and undergone the `S. T. R.` process – shaving, toasting, and re-charring to ensure plenty of complexity.
