Au Bon Climat Santa Barbara County Chardonnay 2021

The Au Bon Climate Santa Barbara County Chardonnay 2021 is a classic example of the Au Bon Climat cool-climate Californian Chardonnay style. Aged on lies in used Francoise Freres French oak barrels for 10 months, the wine exhibits Burgundy-style aromas of flint, citrus zest and stone fruits, along with spicier notes of clove and nutmeg. Au Bon Climat was founded by the late Jim Clendenen in 1982 and continues to produce hugely popular Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from a variety of sites around California’s Central Coast. The wines of ABC, from the most accessible Classics series to the long-aged Blue series, seem to find a perfect balance between Old World restraint and New World approachability.
