Aubert CIX Estate Chardonnay 2022 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard white wine from the Sonoma Coast of California. Aubert is a boutique Chardonnay and Pinot Noir estate that produces wine from single-vineyard sites in Napa Valley and Sonoma. Founded by husband-and-wife Mark and Teresa Aubert in 1999, it is regarded to be one of California’s cult wine labels. CIX is the second estate vineyard that Aubert developed. It shares its eastern fence line with Lauren Estate but has a different soil geology. very white soil that looks like sea salt. Producer note. "The 2022 CIX Chardonnay is opulent and generous, opening with waves of Honeycrisp apple, candied lemon peel, and tangerine cream. Jasmine and coriander add spicy, floral overtones. A subtle sweet-earthiness reminiscent of the vineyard after early spring showers underlies the exuberant fruit character. The wine is massively structured with a mouthcoating, oily texture that carries the finish for minutes. This wine will continue to develop and unfurl for 10 to 15 years to slowly reveal its true complexity. The wine is slightly hazy showing our commitment to minimal intervention winemaking."
