Barolo Cerretta Giacomo Conterno 2018

The Giacomo Conterno estate, now run by grandson Roberto, is one of the most illustrious in Piedmont and many consider their wines to be the ultimate expression of Barolo. This particular release comes from the Cerretta cru, a slope with south-east exposition on soil of marl and clay, with a high limestone content. The 2018 vintage in Barolo has generally been regarded as excellent. It was characterized by favourable weather conditions, resulting in wines of high quality and expression. This wine will continue to evolve in the bottle, so it is worth storing it for a few more years before opening it.
