Gianni Voerzio Barolo La Serra 1996 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard Nebbiolo red wine from the Barolo appellation of Piedmont in northern Italy. The La Serra vineyard is situated on a ridge of the hill of La Morra, whose relatively cool mesoclimate yields Barolo`s in an elegant, classic La Morra style. However thanks in large part to extremely low yields, those of Giannia Voerzio are renowned for their density and concentration. "The superb 1996 Barolo La Serra`s opaque ruby/purple colour is followed by aromas of black fruits (blackberry, cherry, and a hint of raspberry), superb purity, highly extracted, powerful, monster-sized flavours, mouth-searing levels of tannin, and an impressively endowed, 40+ second finish. This backward, pure, intensely concentrated Barolo will require patience." Robert Parker, 1999
