Giuseppe Mascarello is surely considered one of Barolo’s all-time great producers. The Monprivato vineyard is one of the most famous in Castiglione Falletto and is only bottled in vintages deemed outstanding. Now entering its prime drinking phase, the 1996 is a dark and broody expression with complex layers of sweet dark fruit, tobacco, leather, scorched earth and liquorice.
