Vajra Barolo 1971 is a fully mature Nebbiolo red wine from the Barolo appellation of Piedmont, northern Italy. Based in Vergne, the highest village in the commune of Barolo, GD Vajra was established by Aldo Vajra in 1972. Aldo was one of the early pioneers of organic viticulture in the Barolo region and his family estate has a solid reputation for crafting very high-quality Barolo wines. This bottling is from the 1971 vintage, which is considered the best of that decade and arguably one of the best of the second half of the 20th century.
