Domaine d`Auvenay is a small but highly regarded estate based in Saint-Romain. The Domaine is owned by one of the most influential women in the wine industry, Lalou Bize-Leroy, who also manages Maison Leroy and Domaine Leroy. The estate covers only 4 hectares of vines, but these holdings include plots in Grand Cru sites such as Mazis-Chambertin, Bâtard-Montrachet and Bonnes-Mares, where this release comes from. Auvenay is in fact the smallest owner of Bonnes-Mares with a 0.25-hectare plot. 2013 was a late harvest and the wines are beginning to show very nicely.
