In the 2018 vintage, Il Poggione`s Brunello di Montalcino exhibits a captivating dark and savoury character, boasting more fruit weight and concentration than many of its counterparts. The wine`s core holds a rich density, with flavours of dark cherry, blackberry, toasted spices, smoky mahogany, and earthy nuances. Surprisingly, despite its robust aromas, this Sangiovese maintains a streamlined and polished texture. The tannins are soft, making the wine approachable. As the estate`s Riserva Vigna Paganelli was not produced in 2018, the fruit destined for it found a place in this impressive Brunello instead.
