Caballo Loco 18

A lovely blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère and Cabernet Franc. The richness and opulence of this classic Chilean base is complemented and strengthened by the addition of Carignan and Tannat which bring nerve and vibrancy, together with the intense aromas and flavours of Petit Verdot, Syrah and Petit Syrah. The `Number 18` brings together a wonderful array of vintages and vineyards, giving the wine extraordinary complexity with the nuances of aging combined with vineyard differences. On the nose, dark blackberry and blueberry notes mingle with savoury notes of expresso and graphite, together with delicate vanilla, nutmeg and hints of tobacco. Vibrant on the palate, with powdery tannins, refreshing acidity and lingering flavours of ripe fruit, graphite and a hint of sweet spice.
