Based in Beaune, Maison Louis Jadot has a long and fascinating history dating back to 1859. Today, it is one of the most consistent growers and négociants in Burgundy, with a vast portfolio of wines – from easy-drinking, accessible Bourgogne to complex, age-worthy Grand Crus, such as this Chambertin. The Grand Cru vineyard is famous for its well-drained and stony soils, with a thin layer of pebble-strewn, chalky topsoil over a deep rocky base. The wine is made from destemmed grapes, fermented in vats during 3 to 4 weeks. Aging takes place in French oak barrels for up to 18 months
