Chateauneuf du Pape Charvin 2020

Domaine Charvin Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2020 is a full-bodied red wine from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation of the southern Rhône Valley. Domaine Charvin is family-owned that has been producing wines for several generations. The estate vineyards are planted with predominantly Grenache, with smaller parcels of Syrah, Mourvèdre, Vaccarese, Bourboulenc and Carignan. The estate CNDP is produced with 100% whole bunches and matured for about 21 months in concrete vats before bottling. "A blend of 82% Grenache, 5% Mourvèdre, 5% Syrah and equal proportions of Vaccarèse and Counoise, the 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape spent 21 months in concrete vats. The result is a vibrant red wine, bursting with precise aromas of ripe red fruits, blackberry, licoricey as well as hints of dried thyme and lavender. Full-bodied, rich and layered, it is flawlessly balanced by fresh acidity and ends with good persistence on the savoury finish." Vinous, 2022
