Established by Paul Avril in the early 20th Century, Clos des Papes makes one of the most sought-after wines in the southern Rhône. The vineyard is located in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, on a south-facing slope with well-drained, stony soil. The vines are planted to a variety of grape varieties, including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Vaccarèse. This stunning 3-litre bottle hails from the year 2000, a particularly good vintage for Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
