Clos Windsbuhl Riesling Zind Humbrecht 2006

Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Clos Windsbuhl Riesling 2006 is a mature-vintage monopole white wine from the Alsace region of France. Although not a Grand Cru vineyard site, Clos Windsbuhl is frequently grouped with the Alsatian Grands Crus. Managed by the vineyard-focused Olivier Zind-Humbrecht MW, Domaine Zind-Humbrecht produces wines of depth, precision and profound ageability from typical Alsatian grape varieties. The estate has been certified biodynamic since 2002. This 2006 Riesling is from the late-ripening Clos Windsbuhl vineyard – one which produces wines with pronounced acidity and mineral tension. Producer note. "The nose does warn you. be careful, this isn’t just another fruity easy Riesling style. It is packed with minerals, strong lees influence and it is almost possible to associate all those stony flavours with a raging acidity. The sugar maturity wasn’t high, so the wine appears elegant and delicate at first, but then the dry and racy character kicks in. This is great dry Riesling!"
