Château Grancey is a blend of five climates of Corton Grand Cru – Bressandes, Perrières, Grèves, Clos du Roi, and Chaumes – the proportions of which vary depending on the vintage. Upon their initial release, the 1971 wines presented themselves as tightly wound and reserved, lacking in immediate charm. However, as the years passed, the tannins mellowed, and the wines began to reveal their true character.
