Deracine Nero di Avola Pianogrillo 2019

Déracinè is a lovely red wine from Sicily made from 100% Nero d`Avola. The wine is named after the Sicilian word for ‘uprooted’, which reflects the philosophy of the winery, which is to produce wines that are true to their terroir. The grapes for Déracinè are grown in the Pianogrillo estate, which is located in the province of Ragusa in southern Sicily. The estate is made up of 25 hectares of vineyards, which are planted on calcareous soils at an altitude of 480 meters above sea level. The grapes for Déracinè are harvested by hand and then fermented in stainless-steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels.
