Founded in 1859, Louis Jadot, is one of Burgundy’s most respected négociants, and it is also one of the region’s major growers. The Maison currently owns 214 hectares of vineyards, including 112 hectares of Cote d’Or’s most prestigious Premier and Grand Cru plots. This release is the 2019 vintage of Jadot’s Echezeaux, a grand cru vineyard covering the slopes above the Clos de Vougeot. For this particular cuvée, the Pinot Noir grapes are destemmed and fermented in vats up to 4 weeks. The wine is then aged for 18 months in oak barrels. Expect a velvety and rounded expression, with very fine tannins and smooth texture.
