Alto Adige Valle Venosta [Südtirol Vinschgau in German] is the title used for red and white wines made under the Alto Adige DOC from vineyards in the Venosta valley. This particular example is a Riesling from the family-owned winery Weingut Falkenstein, which was first produced in 1995. Fermentation and maturation took place in large acacia barrels for approximately 10 months followed by 7 months of bottle ageing. Expect notes of stone fruit, citrus and refreshing minerality.
