Domaine Arretxea is a small, family-owned estate located in the Irouléguy appellation in the French Basque Country, near the border with Spain. The estate is managed by Michel Riouspeyrous and his wife, Thérèse. They are dedicated to organic and biodynamic farming practices and produce wines that reflect the terroir of the Irouléguy region. ‘Grès’ is a blend of indigenous grape varieties from the region, such as Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, and Petit Courbu. These varieties are known for producing wines with high acidity, bright fruit flavours, and a distinct minerality.
