Haitza Arretxea 2018

An exotic red wine produced by Domaine Arretxea, a small family-owned winery located in the heart of the Basque Country, in the Irouléguy appellation. The Domaine is run by Michel and Thérèse Riouspeyrous, who are known for their commitment to organic and biodynamic farming practices, as well as their dedication to preserving the unique terroir of the region. The ‘Cuvée Haitza’ is a blend of traditional Basque grape varieties, primarily Tannat and Cabernet Franc, with smaller proportions of other local varieties depending on the vintage. The grapes are sourced from steep, terraced vineyards with distinctive limestone and clay soils, which contribute to the wine`s mineral character.
