In between the release of some vintages, Joe Heitz blended a portion of the Martha`s Vineyard barrels with some of his Napa Valley Cabernet from other vineyards or purchased grapes. Today there is only a handful of these odd lots of collectible non-vintage Heitz bottlings on the market. 1974 indicates the year that the wine was actually bottled.
