Il Sodaccio di Montevertine 1995

Montevertine is a cult producer of premium red wines primarily crafted from Sangiovese grapes in Tuscany. Its origins date back to 1967 when Sergio Manetti acquired a holiday property in Chianti and planted two hectares of vines, initially intending to produce wine for friends and family. ‘Il Sodaccio’ was a single-vineyard Sangiovese that was later discontinued. The Tuscan harvest of 1995 was modest in size, yet the fruit harvested was exceptionally rich and concentrated. Overall, the wines from this vintage were characterized by their richness, pronounced tannins, and well-balanced acidity.
