Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Faiveley is one of the leading wine producers in Burgundy. It was founded in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley and is currently run by seventh-generation Eve and Erwan Faiveley. This release comes from Mazis-Chambertin, the northernmost Grand Cru vineyard in Côte de Nuits. The 1988 vintage in Burgundy was outstanding, achieving success in both red and white wines, although the reds could be argued to have held a slight advantage.
