This 1974 vintage Mortlach bottled independently by Gordon & MacPhail is a delight to sip and a reminder that age often does matter. On the nose, there are notes of musty oak and pralines, as well as mushrooms and dark fruits such blackcurrants. The palate is mouthcoating and fairly waxy, boasting hints of almonds, tobacco leaves, plenty of leather and some shoe polish as well as mint.
