Mvemve Raats de Compostella 2014

Mvemve Raats de Compostella 2014 is a full-bodied New World Bordeaux blend produced by Bruwer Raats and Mzokona Mvemve in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa. Launched with the 2004 vintage, MR de Compostella is a collaborative project between Bruwer Raats, winemaker at raats Family Wines, and Zulu winemaker Mzokona Mvemve. The duo`s objective with these wines is to achieve consistent excellent in every bottling by painstaking barrel selection each year. Each vineyard parcel and grape variety is vinified separately and matured for 12 months in barrel, after which each barrel is tasted blind to determine the best selection for the final blend. The blended wine is then matured for a further eight to 12 months in a combination of new, second-fill and third-fill French oak barrels. The opulent 2014 vintage of MR de Compostella is an assemblage of 45% Cabernet Franc, 18% Petit Verdot, 17% Malbec, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Merlot
