Castello di Brolio Ricasoli 2019 is a full-bodied red wine made from there Sangiovese grape variety in the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany. The castle of Brolio just south of Gaiole is considered the birthplace of Chianti - it was here in 1872 that Barone Bettino Ricasoli first made Chianti wines in the style - a precise blending of red and white grape juice with the addition of a proportion of dried grapes - that has been replicated ever since. Aged for 23 months in oak tonneau (30% new). "A polished and reserved Castello with cherry, orange-peel and chocolate aromas and flavours. Tight and round-tannin, in a very subtle and curated way. The precision in this wine is impressive." James Suckling, 2021
