Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon 1980

Shafer Vineyards is the highly respected winery located in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. It was founded in 1972 by John Shafer and has since become known for producing exceptional wines, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon. This release showcases the resilience and skill of the winemakers during a difficult vintage. The wine exhibits characteristics typical of cooler vintages, with more restrained fruit flavours and a leaner structure. On the palate, expect notes of red and black currant, cherry and plum, accompanied by notes of cedar, tobacco, and earth. The wine has a balanced acidity, moderate tannins, and a medium finish.
