St Joseph Blanc Les Oliviers Pierre Gonon 2020

The Pierre Gonon estate is one of the finest producers in Saint-Joseph, crafting wines characterized by remarkable finesse, captivating aromatics, and substantial ageing potential. Currently overseen by Pierre`s sons, Jean and Pierre Junior, the estate continues to excel. The 2020 ‘Les Oliviers’ is a blend of 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne from a single plot featuring alluvial, loess, and granite soils. The wine undergoes a year of ageing in old oak barrels, resulting in a delightful texture and lovely apricot and peach aromas. The palate reveals a subtle bitterness and hints of anise and ginger, culminating in a saline finish.
