Tignanello was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, the first contemporary Tuscan wine blended with untraditional varieties and one of the first red wines in Chianti Classico that did not use white grapes. In all respects it is pioneering and iconic. The 1985 is now fully mature with a soft nose of prune, anise, truffle and leather. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth with a notably dried fruit finish.
