Gaja Pieve Santa Restituta Brunello di Montalcino 2011 is a full-bodied, mature-vintage red wine produced from Sangiovese grapes in the Montalcino sub-region of Tuscany. Crafted from a meticulous selection of grapes sourced from the Rennina and Sugarille vineyards, along with those from Torrenieri, Gaja Santa Restituta Brunello di Montalcino exemplifies a harmonious Brunello blend. The Rennina and Sugarille vineyards boast a clay-calcareous soil enriched with substantial quantities of galestro, a rocky, schistous clay soil, while Torrenieri`s terrain consists of a blend of clay, silt, and sand. Each vineyard`s grapes underwent separate fermentation and maceration processes, spanning approximately three weeks. Following a maturation period of 24 months in oak barrels, the wines were artfully blended and further aged for an additional six months in concrete vats before being bottled. "Aromas of light raisin and prunes with hints of walnut. A little overdone but I appreciate the leather and fruit character. Drink now." James Suckling, 2016
