Penfolds St Henri 2000 is a mature-vintage, full-bodied Shiraz red wine from South Australia. Using Shiraz grapes sourced from vineyards in the McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and Clare Valley regions of South Australia, St Henri is unusual among Penfolds` reds in being matured in large-format foudres. The absence of new wood confers a lovely purity of spiced Shiraz fruit on this popular cuvée. "Firm, with a distinct gamy edge to the cherry and mineral flavours, not as big and broad as some Shiraz but extraordinarily well-focused to let the flavours emerge harmoniously."
