Moulis-en-Medoc

Despite being the smallest communal appellation in the Haut-Médoc, Moulis showcases wines from a range of terroirs from gravels to clay-limestone soils. Revel in the generous Cabernets of Château Poujeaux, set upon the magnificent gravel slopes of Grand-Poujeaux, a single unbroken parcel of land to the northeast of Moulis. Enjoy exploring the wines of Château Chasse-Spleen with classic notes of black cherry, blackberry, wild herbs and tobacco. The region of Moulis-en-Médoc has some truly lovely wines to discover.

Offering beautifully structured and often perfumed red wines, this understated appellation offers excellent value wines made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with small amounts of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Carmenère. Look out for the 2010 and 2016 vintages – exceptional years for superb late-ripening Cabernet Sauvignon.
