Ardbeg 13 Year Old The Harpy`s Tale is a special-edition age-statement Islay single malt whisky produced at the Ardbeg Distillery on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. The Harpy`s Tale takes its name from a mythical winged beast said to stalk the island of Islay. This 13-year-old expression was matured for 13 years in used Sauternes casks along with the classic Ardbeg ex-bourbon casks. Producer note. "Very distinctively oily, with touches of extra virgin olive oil, sweet briar wood, aromatic herbs (coriander & sage) and a suggestion of smoked lemon peel. A splash of water releases more oiliness, like linseed oil, a gentle waxiness, and a burst of perfumed, aromatic carbolic soap, and finally, a whiff of crème brulee."
