Distilled in 1968 and matured for 54 years in first fill sherry butts, this is an incredibly rare release crafted from an unlikely marriage of Spanish oak and Girvan grain. With a deep and intense character drawn from 54 years in best quality Spanish oak this is today almost unrecognisable as grain whisky but with a delicious underlying richness that reveals its roots.
One of only 303 bottles produced, rich, decadent and intense with a resinous quality and dried fruits on the nose followed by roasted coffee and Muscavado toffee notes on the palate. An exceptional, highly unusual release with a character reminiscent of greatly aged malt whisky. Forming part of the prestigious Charles Gordon Collection. Packaged in a hand-engraved, individually-numbered decanter with an ash display box featuring gold leaf inlay.
