Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, Denis Bachelet is a boutique domaine that has created a loyal following around its small-production wines. The estate comprises 3.99 hectares of vineyards across different appellations and the vines are cultivated using ‘lutte raisonnée’. This Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is made from very old vines planted from 1907 to 1917. The 2001 vintage is drinking perfectly right now, rich and slightly savoury, complemented by notes of red cherries and spices.
