The Japanese brand ‘Dassai’ is synonymous with premium sake, but there is also a Shochu that has recently joined the range. Produced by Asahi Shuzo – not to be confused with the beer brewery of the same name – in very limited quantities, it is a particularly full-bodied spirit, bottled at 39% ABV. It can be served chilled, paired with lean meats and lightly grilled vegetables.
