Soba Towari Buckwheat Shochu

Soba Towari Buckwheat Shochu is a honkaku shochu made from 100% buckwheat by the Toyko-based Takara Shuzo in Miyazaka, Japan. While shochu is traditionally based on distillations of rice, barley or sweet potato, Soba Towari captures the unique character of Japanese buckwheat by distilling 100% soba and soba koji. Bottled at 25% ABV, this is a smooth, mellow and complex shochu with notes of sesame seed, cashew and sweet pepper. `Soba Towari can be enjoyed on its own, on the rocks or mixed with hot water. It can also pair well with Japanese dishes or be used as a base for cocktails.
