Finca Dofi Alvaro Palacios Magnum 1999

Since establishing his Priorat-based winery in 1989 after a stint working at Château Pétrus, Alvaro Palacios has quickly come to be recognised as one of Spain’s greatest winemakers and with a focus on local varieties from exceptionally old, low-yielding vines, he is consistently crafting some of the country’s finest wines. Finca Dofi is mostly Grenache with a small amount of Cariñena from a plot in the village of Gratallops planted between 1900 and 1940. The 1999 vintage is fully mature, delivering aromas of warm ripe black fruit, stones, leather and nuts. The palate reveals good structure, fresh acidity and smooth, well-rounded tannins. Enjoy it now.
