Tenuta di Passopisciaro Franchetti 2019 is a full-bodied red wine produced from a blend of Petit Verdot and Cesanese d`Affile grapes on the volcanic slops of Etna, Sicily. Passopisciaro remains at the vanguard of the `Etna renaissance` which in recent years has seen the terroir-focused volcanic wines of Mount Etna rise to the top echelon of the world`s wines. The Franchetti cuvée is based on Petit Verdot with just 3% of the local grape variety Cesanese added in the 2019 vintage. The grapes are sourced from the contrada (cru vineyard area) of Guardiola at 820m above sea level. "“The 2019 Franchetti is like a dark stallion, muscled and sleek. It opens slowly in the glass, inward yet viral, with dusty dried flowers giving way to nuances of plum, brown spice, cardamom, savoury herbs and hints of cocoa.
