Tignanello is a ‘Super Tuscan’ red wine first created in the 1970s by the prestigious wine producer Marchesi Antinori. Tignanello holds historical significance as the first in the region to blend Sangiovese with non-traditional international varieties and exclude white grapes. The 1997 vintage for Tuscany was very good. Despite smaller yields and an earlier-than-usual harvest for Sangiovese, the fruit, alongside other key grape varietals, exhibited ripeness, intensity, and richness in both sugars and acidity.
